Our programs are rooted in the compassionate and contemporary practices of Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA), focusing on joy, rapport, and meaningful skill development. We prioritize the individual’s voice and choice, aiming to build independence, safety, and a high quality of life for both the individual and their families.

At Together Behaviour Consulting, we develop individualized support plans built around your child’s needs, your family goals and recommendations based on best practices.

We currently offer :

  1. Parent Coaching and Support
  2. Behavioural Therapy
  3. Early Intervention (ESDM)
  4. Compassionate Behaviour Support
  5. Online services

Our approach includes open communication and coordination with other members of your child’s care team, ensuring everyone is working together toward the same goals.

1. Parent Coaching and Support

Parent coaching is an essential part of each child’s learning journey. It empowers parents to actively participate in their child’s growth and learning in everyday life.

During our parent coaching sessions, parents will :

  • Learn proactive strategies to support their child before behaviours become persistent or harder to manage
  • Understand how to navigate challenging situations with confidence and compassion
  • Learn ways to support their child’s play and engagement through everyday interactions
  • Support the development of their child’s social and communication skills
  • Encourage their child’s independence with daily living skills such as toileting, eating, and sleeping

Parent coaching can be embedded into all programs to help ensure your child’s learning is supported across different settings and with various people, promoting meaningful and lasting progress.

2. Behavioural Therapy

Our programs are grounded in the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), used in a respectful and neurodiversity-affirming way to support learning and independence.

We begin with a strengths-based assessment to understand your child’s abilities and support needs. Together with families, we develop meaningful goals that reflect what matters most to the child and their environment.

Support plans may focus on :

  • Building meaningful social relationships
  • Expanding play and leisure skills
  • Supporting communication in all forms (spoken language, gestures, visuals, AAC)
  • Strengthening everyday life skills (toileting, eating, sleeping, dressing)
  • Co-regulation and emotional understanding
  • Motor skills (gross and fine)
  • Academic or school-readiness skills

We embed learning into natural routines, play-based activities, and real-life situations so that skills are functional and more likely to be used across settings.

Sessions can take place at home, preschool, daycare, or in the community, where your child feels supported and ready to learn.

3. Early Intervention

The Early Start Denver Model (ESDM) is a play-based early intervention approach for children between 12 and 48 months, especially those showing signs of autism or developmental delays. ESDM focuses on creating a loving, engaging environment where children can thrive, fostering motivation, communication and social interaction in a natural and joyful way.

Some important points about ESDM :

  • Rooted in early childhood development : ESDM is grounded in a deep understanding of how young children learn and grow, making it an ideal approach for early intervention.
  • Play-based and fun : Learning occurs through everyday routines and activities that children already love, helping build positive, fun relationships with caregivers and therapists.

  • Caregivers as key partners : We recognize that caregivers are the heart of the intervention. Their involvement in daily activities helps nurture growth and strengthens the child’s progress.

  • Focused on developmental and social skills: ESDM helps teach communication, social attention, imitation, play, fine and gross motor skills, and personal independence, laying the foundation for future learning.

  • Engaged participation: In each session, both the child and adult are active participants. Together, they engage in preferred activities, take turns, share ideas, and work together to initiate, play, and wrap up experiences.

The earlier we start, the greater the impact. ESDM meets children where they are, creating a playful, nurturing space where they can develop essential skills and form lasting connections.

4. Compassionate Behaviour Support

When a child shows behaviours like hitting, yelling or self-injury, they are often expressing stress, overwhelm or unmet needs. We approach these moments with curiosity, compassion, and a focus on emotional safety.

Our goal is not to “fix” behaviour but to understand what the child is communicating, reduce stress, and create supportive environments where they feel safe, connected and understood. We believe that all children do well when they can, and it’s our role to help them get there, through connection.

We work with families and caregivers to identify stressors, adjust environments, and respond to challenging moments with co-regulation, helping the child feel calm and supported before expecting them to manage emotions on their own. Over time, this nurturing support helps children build self-regulation skills in a way that feels safe and empowering.

Our services include :

  • A comprehensive assessment that includes family input, observation, and when appropriate, brief analysis to understand the child’s experience.
  • A responsive support plan that outlines :
    1. How to reduce stress and create calm, predictable environments
    2. Strategies for co-regulation and emotional support
    3. Teaching of new and meaningful ways for the child to get their needs met
    4. Respectful responses when behaviours occur
  • Coaching and support for families and team members to feel confident and connected in their role
  • Ongoing collaboration to ensure strategies continue to meet the child’s changing needs
